Looking for the next couple steps to take...

I've been busting ass on this truck for the past year, putting the lift on, tires, and the performance pieces i've done and have listed below.

My inquiry, is which steps should i take with it next, I mean, I'm running 38.5x16 tires, gearing is where i'd like to look into for sure, but from there what should be next.?

I've got the intake, exhaust, and chip covered. FPR mod done, have gauges to install to sitting near by.

Looking performance AND fuel mileage... for now :)

Thanks!

Take the lift and tires off and both will improve

Swap the 3.73's for 4.30's. It helps put the motor back into the powerband.

Forget fuel mileage! Not with your suspension setup. 38.5 tires will kill your truck.

Re: Looking for the next couple steps to take...

I've wanted a lifted powerstroke for almost a decade, and i finally can say I own one that I built from bone stock to a big ol beast.

However, I was thinking 4.56 gears, the truck isn't my everyday driver, but when it rains I like to take her out and drive my big comfy lazy boy to work.

I run the hot tune on the truck most of the time, but surprisingly am capable of keeping out of the throttle.

...

Big tires, hot chip, stock turbo... Drives it without gauges...

Got to love #### like this...

NO bigger then 4.30's unless you like listening to the motor be wrapped up all the time.

Re: Looking for the next couple steps to take...

yeah forget mpg with those tires and lift. Your probably at stock HP with the chip cranked up on hot tune.

Thank you, its been my hobbie when i'm not playing around with my motorcycle.

I don't beat and rag on it with the hot setting, i know it probably equals stock hp with the bigger tires and lift, thats why i'm wondering what i should look into next. I admire and appreciate the support and help, didn't join and ask to get ####, but i do completely understand the risk of running higher settings without the proper means installed to monitor some systems.

I've tossed around the idea of turning into a straight toy next summer with rockwells and everything else to go along with them, but still just an idea.
