turbo to clean up 238/80s

Just wanting to see what thoughts are, I'm still with stock turbo now and was looking at a 38r but with the 238s I'm starting to think that there's more potential there if I go with a bigger turbo and would like to keep it as smoke free as I can which I know that's gonna be a challenge but it can be done. Thanks in advance.

Re: turbo to clean up 238/80s

It depends on how much power you want to make. 238/80 and a 38r would be a fine combo but if you want the the absolute most you're gonna have to go modded h2e, hx50, lasb, s468 route

Re: turbo to clean up 238/80s

I would like to push 500 maybe alittle more but not looking for anything crazy. Would the price of putting the t4 mount and modded h2e justify itself in the power gain versus a 38r though?

Re: turbo to clean up 238/80s

After you do a 38r with bellowed up pipes a ww2, a high flow outlet and non ebpv pedestal you're at 2400 already. 238/80 and a 38r would be a good 450 combo but rarely do 80% nozzles go over 500 horse

So the price won't hardly be any different between going with a t4 mount and a 38r.

The T4 setup will run you more than twice as much as just a 38r.

Re: turbo to clean up 238/80s

the thing is an h2e, or qssb is mod-able.(4i mount) not sure about the s turbos
also once the mount is in place an h2e turbo by itself is only a few hundred.

Early 99 f350 4x4 crew cab, auto. pmt2 pcm
2001 cup holder ,T500, MAX AC ASSIST AC mod, Diy Twin tymar, TS chip, Powerslots & Hawk pads, ford AIC, ..... with big fat want to list.

Re: turbo to clean up 238/80s

That's kinda the other reason I was shying away from the 38r because a s style or h2e is refundable as well, definitely gonna have to keep my eyes open for used sets, but irate is only about 1200 more than a 38r set up so not really all that bad. Thanks for the help guys.
