What the heck is wrong with my truck! High.egts

Sooo sick of having to keep my eyes pegged to the egt gauge and not being able to maintain speed with the traffic!. Recently switched to gear head tunes from dp because people were saying that was one of the causes. In the heavy tow setting towing my boat which is a 31 contender on a trip axle trailer. I'd guesstimate it at 10-12k. If I even try to run 70 down the turnpike here in Florida which is dead flat without going over 1200*. So I have to just sit at 60 with overdrive locked out at 1000*. No boost leaks, no evidence of soot from drive pressure leaks. What's the deal?

Did you talk to Jody about your issues before you just start spending money switching tunes...

What kind of boost numbers are you seeing? Did you actually go though and make a boost leak detector and check the system?

You have that wastegate tightened all the way down?

Yes yes and yes. Double and triple checked. That's why I'm asking I can't figure it out.

My dad's superduty had the same problem. I looked under the hood and noticed that the c-clip for the wastegate rod had fallen off and the flapper was just sticking open. A result was a bleedoff of a lot of pressure resulting in high egt's. Take a look at the wastegate rod on the turbo and see if it is still connected.

Have a turbo master controller that has the waste gate shut

Check to see how dirty the intercooler/ radiator/ everything up front is, it makes a big difference from clean to extremely dirty, also I'm sure you checked tho but how is your air filter
