Irate plenums???

Mine were just installed and are leaking a lot on the bottom where the pipe is.

Anybody else have that problem or is there some trick to the install?

Re: Irate plenums???

I had a shop do it and they used a grey rtv, don't know which one though.

I can feel a bead of rtv under there when I test it with air, it's blown out.

I don't know if they didn't let it dry long enough or they just missed the sealing surface when they put it on.

Would you just put them finger tight over night and then tighten them or would you tighten them up immediately after applying the rtv?

Re: Irate plenums???

Yes... Lots of people have used them...

It will fit for sure with the 468, not sure about the race cover however.

Re: Irate plenums???

yes they will work with the race cover . Jake runs that turbo/plenums on his personal truck 50#+ boost . short of a manufacturing issue, guessing the shop may have rushed it or didnt put enough on. idk

Re: Irate plenums???

maybe they didn't prep surfaces well.
try right stuff =D and dont be scared to lay it on, normally put it on and let it start to get tacky then tighten (usually not longer than 20 minutes)

our engine builder gets mad when we use it on stuff cause he practically needs dynamite to unseat it, lol
