Exhaust

My 2002 7.3 muffler finally gave up and I want to replace the exhaust with straight pipe all the way back.
Any suggestions on size or where I might get my best deal?

Is it worth the extra $$$ to go stainless?

Re: Exhaust

Thanks for the input!
Will this bolt up or will I need to do some mods?
Does yours go all the way to the back or does it dump out behind the cab?

Just cut the old exhaust off and install new one. It helps to have a buddy under the truck holding the downpipe while you clamp it to the turbo. Im pretty sure all diamond eye kits run out the back and come out were the stock tailpipe was

Sawzall will help with removal of old system. Exits in stock location and pretty much need two people for installation of new down pipe. Attempted with one and it's a pain in the ass, so just plan on two. I had to wait for a friend to stop by. Overall easy and fitment is great.

Re: Exhaust

How's the sound? I cut the stock muffler off mine and installed a Walker BTM, Overall I'm happy with it but it does have some drone while towing.

Re: Exhaust

Mine sounds mean when towing as well. Was running 65 tow tune up a large 7% pass and with concrete guard rails it echoed pretty bad off of them. Had all the windows down but it didn't bother me. As soon as the guard rails weren't there it wasn't overly loud. Not much drone at all when towing on flatland in od.
