dp tuner 99 into 2002 ?

got my hands on a dp tuner that was in a 99 my question is can i put it into my 2002 ? Well with that being said i already did try it but my rpm gauge wasn't working and my a/c wasn't blowing cold and i had a check gauge + engine light pop on... but it ran perfect.

Do i need to get it reflashed ? or is it because of the pcm ? Also would it benefit me to just swap the pcms since i have both trucks ?

just curious since dp is closed till monday.

Well, if you INSIST on using DP...

Yes, you should have it flashed, as the PCM codes will be different.

Re: dp tuner 99 into 2002 ?

i don't insist on using anyone, ive always have heard nothing but great things for dp ,php , and tony as ive been reading for a while, i just happened to come across a truck i purchased with a tuner already.

and im a very huge fan of the custom tunes, now that i actually got to see one in action and play with it ill be setting up my other trucks asap.

Re: dp tuner 99 into 2002 ?

They are very different pcm codes it needs a reflash.
you want newer tunes anyway they are all around better, and a reflash will be your cheapest route.
Now that you mention it I haven't heard of any trucks blowing lately, from anyone's tunes really.
Jody's crew will get you fixed up quick.

Re: dp tuner 99 into 2002 ?

Send Jody the chip & pcm and he'll fix you up. I've had his tunes for several yrs now and no issues towing heavy. I wasn't building a hotrod just a tow mule.

I believe I talked with you today. If not, feel free to call us.

Yes, you will need it reflashed for the 2002. L99-01 were different than the 02-03 PCM's.
