van turbo help.

I was thinking about potting a van turbo on my superduty to try and get egt's a little lower. Would love a 38r but don't have the money right now. Is it worth it. If so does anyone have one for sale near Ohio. I live north of Cincinnati. Thanks in advance.

Re: van turbo help.

I did like the ww2 to help some for egt's. I did a van turbo on my obs. On yours I do not know if there is going to be a big difference. The exhaust housing on the van turbo is 1.15. If you have a .84 or 1.10 it would help.

Re: van turbo help.

Would it be better to just put a ww2 in my turbo or do the van turbo with ww2?

Re: van turbo help.

Well your sacrificing spool up with the bigger exhaust housing on the van turbo but your gonna get lower egt. You throw a ww2 on the van turbo it'll help a lot with spool up so if it was me I would do the ww2 on the van turbo

Re: van turbo help.

Im currently running a ww2 on a van turbo and the spool up is about the same as when I had a completely stock turbo if not a little better. Egts are a bit lower just driving however I haven't towed with it yet which will be the true test.

Theres a used van turbo for sale on craigslist up in Michigan.

Re: van turbo help.

What all do I need to install a van turbo on my truck? Or should I just throw a ww2 in the stocker?

Re: van turbo help.

Only thing you need to install a van turbo is a truck outlet adapter.
I went with van turbo cause I am broke and needed to lower my egts when towing also needed to go bigger than the .84 exhaust housing to get rid of the engine brake effect.
