Ceramic coating up pipes, turbo outlet, turbo exhaust, manifolds, IC, spider intake??

I am replacing the up pipes due to leaks, ^ EGTs, and low boost.

Found a local powercoater specializing in ceramic coating. I plan having the up pipes and collector done. His prices are very reasonable. So I'm considering having more done since the turbo and up pipes will be out and Ill have more room to pull down pipe. Heck I have to pull all out it anyway.

Should I have the new blank outlet coated? Or 4" stainless down pipe? Exhaust turbo housing? Exhaust manifolds? I think cost will be very reasonable. I also thought about power coating or ceramic coating the IC tubes and intake??

Fyi- I am also installing a hydra chip, regulated return with bowl delete, spin on fuel filter after pump, trans spin on filter, FASS 150gph low pressure, WW2, non-ebpv pedestal, and non ebpv outlet, IC boot kit and plenum inserts/tclamps

If it were me I'ld do the exhaust manifolds, up-pipes, collector and turbo exhaust housing. Maybe the down pipe if it were cheap enough.

It doesnt do much. Looks pretty for a few months and then begins to fade.

If the price is right fine, but dont expect to gain much.

A duramax buddy of mine did this to his along with a turbo blanket , told me it helped him spool quicker. Is he tellin the truth ? Or was he misinformed a bit?

He spent $300 or more on it... Would you spend that much and then not get a nice placebo effect and think it feels better...

You MIGHT pick up a bit of spool, but at the stock HP level, it will not be enough to notice.

My exhaust housings are always coated, just cleaner... Otherwise I dont notice anything.

Yeah I figured it wouldn't make a big diff other than longevity and bling factor. How difficult is it to remove exhaust manifolds?

i would imagine taking the manifolds off just for powder coating isnt worth the hassle. prob brake off most the nuts from rust.. id just do what youre taking out of the truck to replace. wouldnt mess with other things.

Depends on the amount of rust on the bolts. Here in MN after 12 years I can't imagine the job it would be to R&R the exhaust mans in frame. I rebuild a PSD maybe 5 years ago, a '96 year and a sawzall came in really handy....and then IHC bent me over from new hardware. Ford was worse.
