Hypermax turbo

I bought the truck with it already installed. Its a 2002 f350. The trouble Im having it that it doesn't produce boost until 1800 rpms, and in stock mode it barely gets over 10psi. I was wondering if anyone knows are a way to get it to boost up sooner and/or produce more boost without having to turn up the power level

Re: Hypermax turbo

Nah, no issues. I just assumed if you put on an aftermarket turbo that it will spool up sooner in the rpms and give you more boost. Like I said, on the stock setting it maxes out at 10-12psi. Even if I turn up the power it still wont boost up until 1800rpms

Re: Hypermax turbo

I would check for boost leaks. Stock HP settings and a standard H2e should see about 15-17 WOT.

Re: Hypermax turbo

Nope...

Take a 3" PVC cap, drill a hole in it and hook a compressor to it. Install on the intake, pressurize to about 20 psi and spray soapy water on all the boots.

Fix boost leaks and report back.

Thanks. I been tryin to rig up a way to pressurize it and check the same thing on mine that's stock all the way. It just seems slow to light. And T 297k miles I don't know if the boots are original. They are all black boots. With writing on them identifying where they go.

Depends on what turbo was used and for what kind of install or purpose the truck was to be used for on when it spools up. Boost is low though.
