Re: turbo swap

The first question is why?? The second question is the 6.0's turbo vanes are controlled by the computer -- is there an aftermarket box to put one on our trucks?? Never even considered it.

Re: turbo swap

Im not real sure but I dont think you want to put a Variable Geometry Turbo on your 7.3L. Is it a stock 6.0L turbo that your talking about?

Re: turbo swap

Yeah, there are lots of other options. I got a van turbo off eBay and rebuilt it for a couple hundy. It's a good upgrade for sure...

EDIT: But, you'll need tuning to drive it. Do you have a chip/tuner?

Re: turbo swap

Wouldn't that turbo be too small for a 7.3 to gain any performance anyway?

Re: turbo swap

Its already been done by Mr.VanAacken at Empire Diesel. He said it was a cool project but not much other then that. It wasn't as cool as the ProCharger/Turbonetics combo he's runnin right now

Re: turbo swap

If I remember correctly, it was a standalone unit they one-offed. It was about a year ago last time I talked to him about it. Now all I talk to him about is the compound ProCharger setup he's runnin
