Waste Gate actuator on TN drop in??

There has been some talk about waste gate actuators lately and discussions about the BHA and the TM. Just wondering how the actuator that comes with the TN drop in works? Is it a POS or does it work well. I am not getting the boost I would like, but I don't know at this time whether its because of leaks, actuator, or a crappy guage .

So for the TN turbos is it worth it/needed to replace the actuator with a TM or BHA?

What kind of boost are you seeing? The most I ever saw with stock injetors was 27-28psi.

Re: Waste Gate actuator on TN drop in??

Mine stays below 20 pretty much all the time. Like I said I think I have an exhaust leak(even though they were replaced in Dec '06), possible boost leaks(gonna fix when I put in the 6L CAC), and I have NO confidence in the guage. The shop that did my exhaust ran it around on a scanner and it read up to 28 psi when the guage was reading 18 psi. POS BullyDog gauge, gotta get me a new one.

The TN wastegate is larger then stock and ajustable, I see no need to replace it.

20lbs must be the leaks or gauge. I was hitting 25-27 on 4 bad stock injectors.

Yup. I know my injectors are worn out, but it still smokes far more than I would expect, runs hotter, and shows little boost. Its still pulls hard and on my last trip to Palmdale I got 18 mpg.

Re: Waste Gate actuator on TN drop in??

I've had four TN turbo's on mine... I have never touched the waste gate actuator on any of them. I've seen 30psi out of all of them.
