Re: boost fooler

Depends on what you are expecting out of it, its not gonna give you a ton of power, personally id say its a waste of money, just save and get a set of gauges and a chip, especially with a chip its kinda pointless since most tuners tune around the overboost anyways. The way I see it is it will fool the computer into not defueling, however you will have extra boost and not extra fuel so I see a lean fuel situation.

Agree that just get the chip and gauges to be safe. Also, may not get extra fuel but you keep getting fuel versus none.
But if you have to ask what it is you probably dont need it.

You will still get an ses light if you make boost pressure over 25psi even if your tuner did away with the defuel program. 50$ was worth it to me to not have a light come on every time I get in the throttle hard.

02 F350 CC DRW 4X4.
PHP Hydra with Gearhead, PHP, and NLTD tunes. AIRAID INTAKE, 4" exhaust.
CTS INSIGHT w/ egt, coolant and boost sensors.

Leveling kit, 285's
Van turbo/ 38r hybrid.

I've seen a truck with a manual wastegate cranked all the way shut and a PHP phoenix chip hit 30 psi and not once threw a cel, however said truck throw an overboost with a superchips before he got the phoenix. My truck has some canned tune on it from the previous owner, don't know which one so I try to take it easy but mine will hit 26 before it pushes open the waste gate, and no cel.

Re: boost fooler

Not sure if it matters but I had a new ICP, IPR, HPOP, & fuel pump also installed when I added sticks and tunes.
