Re: Water Meth Setup?

i dont see why it wouldnt! if you think you can build the injection system yourself i say go for it. well its going to cool your egt's make a little more power and the methanol will help the diesel burn more it could clear up some of the smoke from the chip, if done properly and not to much methanol is injected i really dont see any cons to it. if you dont have a upgraded or built trans then the extra power along with the chip could cause some problems there.

for a little more than 200 dollars id say go for it! Make a couple kits and folks would buy them from you if they work! hahah id like to have a little water setup right now for when im towing heavy up the hills! plus I like my combustion chambers to be squeaky clean!

Re: Water Meth Setup?

What nozzle should I run and where should I mount it? Do you guys think like a 75 25 water to methanol ratio would be good?

Re: Water Meth Setup?

not to sure on nozzle sizes but a lot of people mount the tank in the bed, I think that would be a very safe amount to use. I know the Snows water/meth suggests a 51/49 ratio of water to meth, but as long as you have more water then methanol youll be good. KTperformance sells a great water/meth injection system, you could email or give them a call regarding nozzle sizes.

heres a link to there website:

Re: Water Meth Setup?

I've been running water meth injection for over 10 years. I would avoid too much meth, it does bad things to timing.

You will not see much power gains with any water injection kit, anyone that tells you that has not calibrated there butt dyno in a while.

At the 400hp level with 50% meth you will see 40 or so HP. At the 300hp level thats going to be about 25 or so.

I only run straight water anymore, just for the cooling. More meth, less cooling effect.

You can see the EGT's stop moving at about 1000*, under hard acceleration...

Re: Water Meth Setup?

How much HP would this add with just a chip?

a chip should put you close to 300.

Re: Water Meth Setup?

Water injection with a chip and stock turbo set up would net you about 310-330 depending on the dyno and altitude.
