aftermarket valve body question

How much of a difference will an aftermarket valvebody make with a tuner? Is it just firmer shifts? or help put the power down.?

My truck seems to pull much better when roll into it once the conveter is locked..

Rebuilt trans with a 6.0 cooler and dual disk conveter

Re: aftermarket valve body question

I noticed MUCH firmer shifts when i first got mine, dont really remember if jody added anything in my chip but i love the way it shifts and it seems to be better at putting the power down compared to no VB. just my $.02 BTW I would highly recommend one

Re: aftermarket valve body question

I have Jody's DP and a John Woods valvebody with a TCI triple converter (-200rpm stall) and the truck shifts 100% better than just with the tuner. Well worth the $$$

Re: aftermarket valve body question

When i get into it from a stop, it tachs to about 3300 and only drops to about 3000 at each shift. shifts are quick and the Truck pulls, but feels like it should be putting more power to the wheels.
