7.3 runs better, WHY

I have a 01 f250 that everyone says it has more power than theres when we pull or just drive. I was wondering if there is a difference with stock trucks. my truck is set up just like my buddies 02 and there is night and day difference and I have double the miles. 5inch, volant, edge with A2, Any ideas.

are you sure your truck isn't running a programmer or chip on top of your edge?

Re: 7.3 runs better, WHY

it is and so is his, but with all chips a side my truck still runs better. The only difference that I know of is he has a big head actutar on his. We both have an oil leak. Well my just marks its spot with a drip and his leaves a small puddle. I am just curious if there is better stock truck or if there is different quality stock parts( cps, Icm, turbo)

Their are several different reasons why yours runs better than his. Could be something a simple as your buddy's truck has a leak and is loosing boost.

Re: 7.3 runs better, WHY

I must have gotten a good truck, I have 168000 miles 4in skyjacker, f350 rear blocks. 325x60-18s. I have one ball joint getting loose. I have installed tons of these and mine look to be stock, or ones that have no spot for a grease fitting or plug. I will just keep this thing and hope it never dies. I will not find another one like it.

No doubt you got a good one. I've got 120k on mine and I'll probably be replacing my ball joints this spring.

Get that thing on a dyno sometime!!

My best is 333hp pretty much bone stock, 4" exhaust, intake and DP-Tunes.

Mine is paid for and I never plan on getting rid of it!!

Re: 7.3 runs better, WHY

I put a tranny in it at 133000 and my tranny buddy said it had a fairly new reman in it. The truck came from texas and look like it had never worked till I started pulling the snot out of it. I like it and there isnt one around like it. I have been reading about some of the cheap mods I might do some of them and see if I can get a little more out of it.
