Compressor a/r size ?'s

Ok I understand (or at least I think I do) the effects of different size turbine housings but what about compressor housing sizes. What's got me asking the question is a buddy of mine gave me a gtp38 off of a t444e to check out. Well upon inspection the compressor housing is a .65 a/r, exhaust is a waste gated 1.10.
I have no intentions of using this thing right now but my curiosity is peeked. Why such a small compressor housing compared to our 1.0 housings? What's the effects?

I would like to see a picture of that turbo.

If only those who knew what they were talking about replied, this thread would still be on page one.

Re: Compressor a/r size ?'s

I believe my buddy said 95 96 but not sure.
Inlets and outlets are upside down compared to power stroke turbo.

Re: Compressor a/r size ?'s

4 bolt flange or v band exhaust housing?

looking at the exhaust outlet flange it should be a v band mount, but that year should still have the 4 bolt obs flange. i work on a 97 IH 4700 with a T444e alot, has the same turbo set up as the obs trucks. just has a 1.0 ex housing instead of a 1.15.

Re: Compressor a/r size ?'s

Its not a powerstroke or T444e turbo.

Its a standard rotation turbo, which would require a mount kit be built for it.

Its a very small compressor...
