New turbo = big problems, HELP!!

Ok, saturday i removed the turbo from my truck and installed a ported compressor shroud, turbine housing, and wastegate actuator. I already had the wicked wheel. I finished the install but now the trucks max boost is 12 PSI. It runs good but when I get on it, since it only puts out 12 psi, my exhaust temp goes through the roof cause there isnt enough air flow to clean up all the fuel.
Is there maybe an adjustment or can I correct this with tuning?

Sorry for the length. More info is better than not enough.

Sounds to me like you need to adjust your wasgate acutator. I don't know what kind you got but you need to back it out so it will allow more boost to get to the egine? Good luck

Re: New turbo = big problems, HELP!!

Nothing is leaking that I can tell. I have been all over the engine and can see nothing out of place. I unplugged the red hose that runs to the actuator to see if there would be a difference and no change.

make sure the wastegate is adjusted properly.... that rod is adjustable and may not be keeping the wastegate closed closed all the way.....

Re: New turbo = big problems, HELP!!

After you check for a leak a couple of times, check a few more times. Might try breaking out the soapy water.

Re: New turbo = big problems, HELP!!

I just hope I can do the adjusting for the wastegate while the turbo is still on the truck. I dont think I can go through the removal and reinstall again.

yeah just take the e-clip off the top of the wastgate and adjust the rod until it is holding the wastegate closed.

Re: New turbo = big problems, HELP!!

Might check the up pipe connection into the back of the turbo. If that dowel didn't get seated into the turbo, it will leak like hell.

It sound to me like you have a leak somewhere.
