what's the lowest psi you can run on a reg return?

The reason I ask is because I have a buddy that has been running between 25-35 w/ stage 2s. He swears that his truck runs better than it did when he was running 50-50. He said that it idles better, and still pulls hard on top. I haven't tried this, but I'm curious to see if anybody has actually tested running the pressure this low.

My trucks will NEVER be set lower than 60psi!

I'm right there w/ you Dennis. I was surprised that his truck even ran, but he said that it ran great. That's why I am curious to see what the lowest anybody has tested the pressure.

Re: what's the lowest psi you can run on a reg return?

I just tested fuel psi on some dyno runs a few weeks back.
Picked up about 4 hp and 45 ftlb going from 50 to 65 psi. Dropped hp going to 75 psi.
Seems 60 - 65 psi is the sweet spot for PSD's. DO NOT run that low of pressure as your buddy...

Trust me, I wasn't planning on it. Got too much invested on the injectors. But...Has anybody ran lower pressure? Lower than 45?

Re: what's the lowest psi you can run on a reg return?

My fuel pump went out earlier this year and the Airdog was moving enough fuel to start and keep the engine running with 0 psi showing on the fuel pressure guage.

My truck idles smoother at 35-40psi than it does at 65. I just have the bost reference on the regulator hooked up so that I get to 65 when boost comes up.

I thought if the pressure was under 40PSI it was damaging to the injectors?

My buddy's rail pump went out just after he installed the FASS. He said that he suddenly notice that his truck started to idle a lot better. He realized that the rail pump was not working afterwards.

That's kinda what I was thinking might work. Turn the pressure down and letting the boost reference bring it up.

How long have you been running that way?

Does anybody know what pressure international runs on the injectors?
