Big Boost

If i just put headstuds in with no fire rings and with a stock head gasket what will i be good for as far as boost numbers? Could i run a H2E with mini mes and still be safe or no?

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say you'll be fine. I had stock gaskets never been off, with studs, and 230cc inj. and modded H2E making around 40-45 psi. Never had a problem with gaskets. Now the block was a different story. Then on second engine, same setup, with a girdle to help the block live.....rods broke( much bigger injectors with no retuning--my fault completely) . Make sure you got correct tuning for your setup, and most likley it will be fine. And DO NOT tq them above what is recomended by the man. If the box says 125 ft pds, tq them to 125 ft pds, not 130, not 140....------125

I only know this because I messed up and took my arp's to 135 or 140 based on bad info, whether misprint from box, or off the internet or wherever I got it, and ended up having to purchase another set of studs when one broke, and two more stretched.

And , if you can afford it, go with cometics.

Re: Big Boost

What does boost have to do with head studs? Cylinder pressure is what lifts heads, right?

Re: Big Boost

So far so good on my obs, heads have never been off, stock gaskets and h-11's. Its been seeing around 50psi with a 66/76 H2E since mid summer no issues so far.
