New motor start-up Vids

Took some video footage off a camera, it's not the best but, it will suffice until a better quality video camera comes along. Still can't find mine

enjoy.

Re: New motor start-up Vids

We took it out for a spin monday night to get it running and get the bugs worked out, (found a few). Stopped for fuel, pulled out of the station 1/4 throttle, heard a bang and a RPM-constant pop out the intake. Thought it had something to do with an exhaust valve not opening. Pulled into the closest parking lot, called dad to come pick us up... Got the gooseneck, put it on the trailer, last night i found:

broke a rocker bolt.. put two stock ones back in that place, rechecked valve lash, retorqued the injectors rockers and decided to try the hot retorque on the studs, about 4 of the 30 i got to actually moved, pulled the injectors, much to my dismay 7 of the 8 were already at spec. Gonna button it up tomorrow evening to see if i can actually take it out on the road....

Re: New motor start-up Vids

...good luck with those rockers...

when you need help rebuilding them, give us a holler, and we'll give you some tips.

other than that...looks good! (sounds a little rough, though)

Re: New motor start-up Vids

Wipeout's. Dave, what do you mean "help rebuilding". Do they just suck, or what? They were already on the motor so why not use them, but they were a pretty penny.

Re: New motor start-up Vids

just keep an eye on your valve lash...maybe yours will be OK.

once you get it broke in a bit, and you lay into it a few times...if it feels sluggish, like choking for air...recheck your lash.

The lash would go out within minutes of run time...until we rebuilt them with a more durable bronze bushing material.

just something (else) to keep in the back of your mind.
