GT 42 and Mini mes

Well, It looks like I'm finally stepping up to a 42. This should be done in the next 2 weeks or so.

I will be running this with standard Mini Mes for now. I have a choice of 1.01 and 1.15 housing. I'm thinking the 1.01 would be better for me.....but am not opposed to the 1.15 if it still would spool decent.

Also, keep in mind I live only a few feet above sea level.

Who is running a 42 with hybrids?

Re: GT 42 and Mini mes

At sea level, it oughta work awesome. I had absolutley no problem spooling it with the 1.28 housing on it down in California. I think you'll like the 1.01 just fine.

Plus, Lott can retune you for it, get the fueling and trans stuff working right with it. I had to raise the mph on the t/c lock-up so it wouldn't snuff the charger out.

Ah so the other housing is a 1.28....

I think the 1.01 will be the ticket too. Did you ever run it with MMs....or just the SHOs and B Codes?

Do you ever have a problem with it bouncing off the rev limiter if you don't have the lockup immidiately happen on the 1-2 shift? Our trucks will flare the converter if we don't lockup immidiately....

Re: GT 42 and Mini mes

No, the other housing I have is a 1.15. I got the charger from Lott with the 1.28, it was WAY too much at 4500ft. So I swapped in the 1.15 and it was still a little tough to get rolling. So I then put the 1.01 on it, works pretty good now.

I never ran it with Mini Me's. My buddy in Utah ran the journal bearing 4202 with the 1.01 on his OBS with Casserly hybrids and it was too laggy for him. He swapped it for the 4294 and couldn't be happier now. He's at 4300ft too though, and it was a journal bearing not ball bearing.

1.01 for drive ability. You want instant response, not more big end.

My converter holds solid (Thanks John). When the tuning was locking the converter right at the 1-2 shift it was too much on the charger and snuffed it out bigtime, so it had to repool. Moved lock-up a little later and got the charger to stay lit through all the shifts and lock-up and picked up 2 tenths at the track.
