fuel mileage sucks after FASS install

so this past weekend i drobe approximately 450 miles. i averaged 14.6 mpg, WAY down from the normal 21 mpg. only thing i can think of that ive changed right before this was adding a FASS 150/180 and a new power steering pump. oh and i put on regular 4" exhaust and took the stacks off (big mistake BTW, stacks are the shizz).

can the FASS really make that much of a difference if any at all? i checked every single fitting for leaks and cant find any. fwiw, on the way back from houston i towed an empty trailer and got almost 17 mpg. now unloaded i cant even get 15 mpg.

any ideas??

Re: fuel mileage sucks after FASS install

yes i changed th whole thing lol. built tranny from DI, but in between the time i did the tranny to the time i did the FASS i was getting the 21 mpg.

as far as i know its locking properly, locks harder than the stocker ever did, thats for sure, and at the same speed it normally did before too.

Gotcha.

I just don't see the fuel pump doing this. I would search my memory long and hard to see if you may have changed something else.

Same program?

Re: fuel mileage sucks after FASS install

I figured it out...

Slim's got your line pressure at 100% from anything right off idle to try and keep that tranny alive.

It's sucking the power right out of the truck to turn the pump.
