This outlet is approximately 3.25" ID compared to the stock outlet which is approximately 2.75" ID. is this the only difference ?? or is something done to the waste gate side too??

Re: high flow turbine housing outlet question..

could a guy have a stock one. machined to 3" ? or does it have to be casted to that size??

Re: high flow turbine housing outlet question..

when i got my non-ebv outlet i thought it was going to be bigger, advertised as high flow. it was only 2.75 but it looks like it was machined factory to that size. i was already contemplating getting mine machined out to the bigger dimension, i am sure it wouldnt be a problem.

Keep in mind high flow does not mean bigger.
For example a 3.5 DP will outperform a 4" DP with a stock or 38R.

For anything under 500rwhp yes.
Now if your looking for that last few HP, plug the holes in the original outlet or buy a non ebv one and have a machine shop taper bore it to the max size at the outlet.

Re: high flow turbine housing outlet question..

I have a GDS(I think) for an SD and it has a significantly larger I.D. than the stock one. Some much larger that it leaks past where it mates to the turbine housing. You can hold them up together and see light through it.
