hi guys, i was just wondering if anyone has tried this turbo out and if so did you like it?? i was debating on putting one on my 97 powerstroke, but didnt know if i would gain much or not...currently i have a ts 6 postion chip, cold air intake, 3" downpipe and 4" exhuast, IDM mod, bts tranny, and would also like to do stage 1's and an intercooler down the road...let me know what you think, and what kind of boost, and horsepower one is capable of, thanks Ryan
It seems that some have great luck with the turbo. It is the only drop-in upgrade turbo on the market for our trucks. It would be an option for me but I plan on getting bigger than stage 2's so I don't wanna risk it.

ok, thanks....so is there anyone else out there that has an opinion, or tried one of these turbos, and what kind of hp did you get out of it??
Farmboy, mine was one of the first three built for testing, it's pushing 60,000 miles. with Bean's stage two's it helped my truck to 435 hp. With the intercooler, boost was never ever past 30 lbs which fits perfectly within the parameters of Bean's warranty. Awesome towing turbo, runs cooler as you push it harder. I was worried about mine when I stepped up to 235cc hybirds, Bean cannot warranty it when it is getting pushed up close to 40 lbs. But, I was very happy when the boost graph recorded on Bean's new load dyno got up to 34 lbs quickly, (VERY quickly! ) and flat lined there through out all the pulls, no matter which of the tunes I was testing. To be able to bolt on the only aftermarket turbo built for the obs @ the price it sells for, it's one of the best buys out there of any aftermarket product, OBS or superduty....
wow, thats great, im now more interested in going to that approach now knowing that they hold up well....ive also ran some 230cc hybrids with a sledgehammer turbo, and they are a pretty good set-up, but now im going smaller with the daily driver, and bigger with the puller, so thanks for the info...
stage 2's and a 1.o exhaust housing so I get 40 pretty easy if I really mash on it...no problems other than a little surge at times but that's due to my small housing as I understand it. I like mine and would recommend it. It's also easy to rebuild with a stock kit.
I know of one OBS in our club that is turning 358/751 with the D66, and they are going to go bigger, (it's Wanda, Terrys wife, "Tubzz") This turbo has served them well so far for sure. Bean is a great guy to deal with.
