My truck does that also doesn't really bother me but if you don't want to see if have Jody change the tunes or get some big oil.

If the P1211 code all the time like under normal driving, and not hard into then you probably need a new IPR

Re: allways throwing 1211 code

I'd check to see if the IPR is leaking, then call up Joey and order a Terminator II with that fancy R-IPR.

If the SES light comes on after 30+ seconds of heavey throttle then the tunes are asking for more oil than the pump can supply. If you are setting a P1211 code under daily driven type conditions then you probably have an issue like crap in the IPR, IPR orings, etc.

Re: allways throwing 1211 code

Can you ever feel the truck surge in power with a very crisp "Timing" sound? This is usually a sign of a stuck IPR coming "unstuck" and the ICP jumping up quickly advancing your effective timing, giving the engine a very raspy sound until the IPR duty cycle is gotten back in check.

I had a sticky IPR and although it never set the SES, I had the "Over/Under" ICP code everytime until I took it out and cleaned it.

There is a very good chance you might have ICP higher than desired if you've got a sticky IPR. If the truck is setting the code during say, steady rpm, cruising situations, like rolling down the interstate, then I'd look into the IPR seriously.

1211 is just as easily set by high ICP as low. It's an "out-of-bounds" error. It can be from either direction, although usually from the lower of the two.

Good Luck.

Re: allways throwing 1211 code

Sounds more like a pump at this point. Might be worth pulling the IPR off and some new orings. Also might see if you can get a scanner to see what the pressure is actually doing, but it's probably the pump can't keep up.
