EGTs High!?!?

I have my 38R on my truck now with some reman stage IIs from Cass and a BTS. I can hit 1400* and its not difficult to do. I have my waste gate unplugged and I am only hitting 29 or 30 PSI MAX. My injectors are not running the full fuel that they could and I have my timing on the chip brought back a little more then a usual program for stage IIs seeing as I have PMRs still. Anybody help me with this?? My up-pipe doughnuts are new and there does not seem to be a boost leak anywhere, my turbo lights fast and hard and there is no soot anywhere under the hood. Does anybody have any suggestions for me to try out? I thought my EGTs would of been lower then this seeing as people make 500HP on the same turbo and I am only at about 350 with my tunes. Help me out.

Re: EGTs High!?!?

The injectors put out alot more fuel than stock. Get used to seeing high EGTs quickly.

Re: EGTs High!?!?

What about my boost numbers??? Shouldn't they be higher? I am thinking about taking out the turbo and getting a non waste gated 1.115 housing for it. That should drop me back down to the 1200* range. Not to worried about the little bit of lag with the bigger housing since I have so much fuel its not going to be a big deal at all.

Yes, try a larger exhaust housing and see what it will do for you.

Re: EGTs High!?!?

I want to know some peoples current EGTs with a similar set up if I can get them.

Re: EGTs High!?!?

You ought to just make a boost leak detector and see if you have any leaks? I know I had a few I didn't realize...every little bit helps..

It is pretty easy to make!

Re: EGTs High!?!?

I have made one before. I will have to do that to check.

Re: EGTs High!?!?

Have you tried adjusting your waste gate? Screw it in a couple turns and see if boost goes up.

Re: EGTs High!?!?

You may have some other issues but keep in mind that less timing = higher EGT's. 1400 deg. isn't all that rediculous depending on how hard you are into the fuel pedal.
