blew the trans cooler

Well this guy down the street from me wanted to race me real bad. I told him i would run him on all motor vs his car on nitrous.

His car is a 03 Mustang Gt with with sct, intake, exhaust, 4.10's and 200 shot of nitrous. Not to mention the slicks. Well all went well until my truck shifted into overdrive and the trans cooler blew up. Nice little hole in the side of it. I thought it was a boost tube from the sound of it. Hopefully the trans is alright. I lost a lot of fluid. Also racing on the big tires

Notice him saying are you ready......are you ready....lol my truck has some lag.

Time for a upgrade cooler, hopefully the dealer will have something in stock.

I guess thats what i run into for having a truck with 235,000 miles. After thinking about it, there be cant that much pressure going through the cooler to make that big of a noise. Or could there be? Boost tubes and boots are intact so i dont think it could be that. i dunno , i limped it back to a friends house until i relized that i had a trans leak. Im not 100 percent sure. might have two problems.

Re: blew the trans cooler

I just installed a trans cooler from a v-10 truck. Bought it new from the dealer, I forget how much it was. Anyways it's a direct bolt on from the stock cooler, its bigger by 4 rows of cooling and I have noticed the tranny gauge is much cooler than it was before. I don't know the exact #'s because I never really logged exact #'s with the stocker, but its definitely cooler.

Like I said 100% direct bolt in to the factory spot, and it's good for some cooling.
