Does this sound like valve float?

I had the truck on the dyno, and at around 3500, it started popping.

What would cause this pop if it's not valve float?

Re: Does this sound like valve float?

Nope. Not the valves.

This truck left the line at ~3700 or so rpm...

I believe the shifts take place near or slightly over 4000 or so rpm.

Don't worry about it. Put the "smoothing" on level 5....you'll never know what happened. I only say that since it's a Dynojet Dyno.

Re: Does this sound like valve float?

so if it wasn't the valves, what was it?

Injectors?

I am running the hypermax springs so the valves don't float, but I hadn't heard that sound before.

That was one of the first times that I ran the truck in the extreme position.

Re: Does this sound like valve float?

Talk to your tuner. The short and simple answer is that your Fuel Delivery signal was a joke at that point.

And I'm not interested in producing the long answer anymore.

ICP and PW?

That stuff is fixable, the valve float was the main concern.

I still need to get a few more tunes, and live tuning would be great.

Anybody want to come out to sunny SoCal for a weekend?

Re: Does this sound like valve float?

Tuning is the short and only answer.

Comp cams 910's will go a might bit higher than 4300 with no float.
