Friday night Matt and I removed both turbo's and popped the injectors out of his truck and they are being sent off to be modified. Jay pretty much with little more then moral support and a few tool hand offs took out his factory HPOP
. I also administered a compression test on Matt's truck. We called it a night and got up the next morning around 11 am.
By 12 Matt and Jay were busy installing the Stealth Stage 2 in his truck, and Steve showed up. Steve and I started tearing the top end of his motor apart and then did a contribution test on his truck as well. We then left for about 90 minutes to get his injectors and come back. When we got back we started doing the head studs. I was able to get 17 of 18 on that side no problem. Did 10 on the passenger side and couldn't get any further w/o moving the motor or vac
housing. Well Matt and Jay finished up the stealth install and we watched it run for a bit. By this time it was getting dark and Matt, Jay, Steve and I started rocking the motor to get to the last driver side stud. To no avail. Finally we decided to leave it alone for a few minutes and went and removed the vac
cover on the passenger side and we were able to get to every single bolt no problem with the motor in the frame rail. The hardest part was getting some of those far back ones to 135 ft/lbs when you have no leverage and you can only do one click at a time b/c of limited space. Anyway we finished that and decided to take another look at the driver side. After several attempts we decided the downpipe was in the way but we couldn't get it out since it was welded there from BTS. Awe well so we pulled the turbo, rocked the motor and got the stud in. Installed all 8 injectors, and had to clearance one of the hold downs. By 4AM we were buttoned up and went to bed. IIRC
... took approximately 12 hours from time we popped the hood till the time it was ready to fire.
The next morning we finished Steve's truck and I left early to see the game but missed it anyway. Oh well.
So here's the recap:
Steve's truck: Got H11 Studs, 200cc Injectors and a contribution test.
Matts truck: Got broken down to send injectors off and a contribution test.
Jay's truck: Got a stealth stage 2 HPOS
installed in his truck.
Pictures and video's to follow shortly.
