Question 400 hp on 160cc...?

I decided to move this here to discuss a combo using 160ccs (defined; a standard stage 1 w/ stock nozzle) to get 400hp. Has anyone done it? What would it take? 350 is caveman easy with limited mods and is still fairly overfueled, so 400 seems achieveable. Maybe not..

What cha think?

Nope, will need larger nozzles on that 160 to get there.

Re: 400 hp on 160cc...?

The best I ever did was 428rwhp on the stock nozzles but I am quite sure I was injecting more than 160cc getting there.

But I really don't know. I know of one good way for you to find out though...

And no Beaner..... I'm won't go off on a tangent about this.

Re: 400 hp on 160cc...?

Perfect timing, perfect amount of air, perfect amount of ICP and a lot of time on a dyno coming up with those values.

That's what it would take.

As for the air, I think you'd be hard pressed to beat the 38R with the 1.15 housing for this little experiment.

Think a good 17 deg pump is up to the task?

Re: 400 hp on 160cc...?

Tom,
How smoky is your set up? I'm now wondering if the stage 1 is already empty, or if there is a fuel reserve that has not been found yet (that could be accessed with more icp, pw, timing, fuel pressure, etc). Except for using a 38R, your set up is where I'm ultimately headed and I don't really want anymore fuel. I want to tow with my foot on the mat and to reduce the smoke to nothing more than a light haze.

Re: 400 hp on 160cc...?

Didn't Blow-by dyno pretty high on stock ADs back in the day?

I tell you my truck (w/ a full built motor, ported, BO, GT42R, etc... feels much stronger than a typical 330 rwhp AD injectored truck.

I'm officially...Stroke-less.

Re: 400 hp on 160cc...?

you're running on stock ADs with the 42r and its not too big? (Forgive the ? if its lame but I haven't learned too much about turbos yet..) many guys talk about the 'quality' of the power that you note (330 hp vs. 330 'good' hp) and how BO really gets the most of splits. I don't know about going to BO yet, but its often said that it delivers better power that's not always seen on the graph.

I'm really interested hearing about rigs that have been extensively modded but keep the smaller injectors.
