Exclamation Just got my dptuner

I recieved the tuner and installed it as the directions instructed me to. The truck will crank but not start. I removed the pcm again and made sure the terminals were clean and reinstalled it, same thing. So I removed the pcm and removed the tuner and reinstalled the stock pcm and the truck started just fine. I noticed the display on the tuner will not light up at all, I looked over the chip/harness/display and there was no sign of damage anywhere. if someone could please give me some insite as to what the issue could be.

Thanks,
Jason

Re: Just got my dptuner

there could be too much copper showing and damaged that port on the pcm board. You probably cant get a good connection and the chip is not powering up, thus preventing the truck from starting...

Is there alot of copper showing?

Re: Just got my dptuner

If there is copper showing you went too far and the pins on the chip will be loose. But it may be that the cord from the chip to the switch is loose. You have to notch the plastic or you'll usually knock the connector loose at the chip.

Depending on how much copper you have showing you may need to re-tin the traces.

with a soldering iron and solder, just like you'd tin any other electrical connection.

Re: Just got my dptuner

I accidently pluged the F5 gauge switch in upside down. It did start and run bad, but the gauge switch did not light up. Worth a check.
