bouncing RPM's

ever since i put the 17 HPOP in my RPM's bounces about 50 RPM's..only does it when the truck has fully warmed up ...first start of the day it cranks a little longer...other then that it runs smooth and stong and theres no smoke......oil level in pump is always with in 1/2 inch from top... i was thinking maybe an IPR needs cleaning...so i got re seal kit..throttle responce is a little better but still have RPM bounce.also tryed a ICP with no change...now Im thinking maybe o-ring in the injectors..if it was injector o-ring..wouldnt it smoke and miss a little?? any input would be helpful...if it is injector oring..how can tell witch one or at least witch side it is coming from..i do have AE if i can use that...thanks guy's..

Re: bouncing RPM's

You talking about a little romp, romp, romp, romp action?

Or he needs some programming adjustments to cope with the extra oil flow.

Automatic truck?

Re: bouncing RPM's

yes its an auto trans..I tried a new ICP and I rebuilt the IPR..its not really a romp romp..its just a slow bounce in the RPM's..it will idle smooth then raise 50 RPM's and smooth out for a second then bounce again.. but only when the truck has fully wormed up and in park..if i set the high idle she runs very smooth at 1100...if i let her sit for a half hour or so and re start her she wont bounce again till it fully warmed...Jody said he didn't think the tuning has anything to do with it...it does it in all tunes,,even stock..i did send this pump off to Joey and asked him to put a little magic in into it..not sure as to what he did..he seems to think its an o ring to..

Re: bouncing RPM's

With your AE you could watch ICP and IPR see how that relates to the RPM. I would record the data and then graph it out.

Re: bouncing RPM's

my truck was doing the same thing when i reused my ipr for the terminators.so i replaced the ipr with a brand new o.e. one and and my idle stabilized.

i did a test with AE with ICP un pluged..ICP duty cycle on a cool down motor was 18.75 and ICP was 725...pluged in DC of 14.84 and ICP of 841 at fire up then leveled off to 500 and bounced to 550 back and forth...not a romp romp bounce..idle will rise 50 and level of for a couple seconds then rise and drop again for a few seconds..

I'm thinking maybe a new IPR may be the ticket..the re seal kit made for better throttle response..maybe its the electrical end of it that's messed up...

Re: bouncing RPM's

If you end up scanning it again record just RPM, IPC, and IPR and post up the numbers.
