2002 7.3 jet sound?

I have an 02 F350. This is my third 7.3 but first one I've owned with any mods. It has a 4" exhaust, larger turbo, 6 position chip and a K&N intake. I was wondering if theres anyway to make it have the "jet" sound that the 6.0s tend to have?

Only time you get that sound is when you cold start it and let high idle kick in.

It wont do the high idle, I've even cycled it through each of the six position settings and it wont do it. I thinking its time to put in a better programmer

Hmm....not sure a programmer is the issue. Perhaps EBPV.

The only time I get the whooshing jet sound is my first start of the day and it kicks high idle. When I put it into high idle myself I do not get that sound.

Re: 2002 7.3 jet sound?

It only will get like that when it goes into high idle and ebpv is functioning properly. It closes somewhat to put a load on the motor while it idles high to want up faster. If its unplugged like mine. It won't make that sound. And unless you want to get 1.3 mpg's and drive around with your ebpv like that all the time I wouldn't worry about it. Buy a 6.0 if you want the jet effect.

Re: 2002 7.3 jet sound?

where did you get the wicked wheel 2? and how much was it?

it's about time to replace mine so I might as well upgrade. I've also heard that you will get the "whine" if you put in an HX35 turbo, but not too sure on how accurate that info is.

You've got to be a new member if you don't know where to find the ww2.Lol! just kidding. It can only be found at dieselsite.com. Other billet wheels are out there but they are not a ww2. My order will be placed soon.
