What's a more efficient 400hp? 250/100 or 238/100 or 160/100

Just trying to decide what direction I want to go with injectors on my truck. I've had 175/146 swamps, I've had 238/100 and stock, php did the tuning on both of those trucks. Both ran good the one with the 175/146 sticks got better mpg..... Anyways I'm wanting to tune my truck to around 400 rwhp and between these injectors what ones would y'all choose. I realise the 250/100 injectors would leave me room to grow but would they be ideal for a mild 375ish hp for everyday driving towing and just mpg getting? Or would they still be smokey rough idle and all that nonsense. Also I will be using the stock turbo for a while so that is going to be a factor as well. It is a new turbo with the ww2 and a mechanical wastage. What would y'all choose if price was not a concern for a 375 to 400 hp daily driver that tows on occasion and to get the best mpg out of it while I drive it 100 miles per day just to work and back. Thanks

Re: What's a more efficient 400hp? 250/100 or 238/100 or 160/100

The 250/100 and the 238/100 will be the same if they do not have any mods done to them.. other then the 250 will flow 12ccc more... The 250cc will be able to get you close to 500hp maybe more... So you would have room to grow. The 100% nozzle on a hybrid will not get you a smoke rough running pickup.. If they do it is because the injector is bad OR the tuning is bad... both of these will be a good clean injector...
The 160/100 could get you to 400 and a little higher.. BUT it will be at the exspense of more smoke.

The hybrids will get just as good of fuel MPG as the stroked AA codes.. Infact with good tuning the hybrids should do better since they can get the fuel out faster for a cleaner and more efficant burn. less time to get the same amount of fuel out mean more power and less smoke.. So a hybrid will get better fuel MPG if tunned right then the stroke AA codes will...

since you are looking for 400 and maybe more somtime do not touch the 160/100. go with the 250/100 that way you dont have to max the injectors out.

I wuld do the 250/100..... But then i went form stock to 300/200......

Thanks sounds logical. Thanks for the input. Ill talk to Bill over at php about tuning some of full forces 250/100 injectors down to around 400hp or so. I really wish I was close enough for a few live tunes.

If you cant get live tuning.. This would be a good thing to have from Bill. Unless you want to do your own tuning...

Yeah i have his hydra chip and that's what I'm running now. So him emailing me tunes and tweaking them till I like them will be second best I guess to live. I do have access to a dyno here in traverse city so ill be able to test it out when I feel like its all set on the street. Thanks again

Well if have the hydro already you are set.. All you need than is the ability to get live data as you run your pickup then send bill the information and he can tweak the tunes from there.. Would be the closet you could get without being live tuned..

Glad I could help! be shore to post up results if and when you get it done!.

Will do. So how do I get live data while I drive? Is there a laptop or something you guys hook up to the truck or something?

238 hybrid is most efficient of the 3 on the stock hpop.

Most shops that deal with the powerstroke can data log a few runs for you, then send the screen shots to your tuner. The ford vcm is what we use to data log for tuning and other info.
