intake exhaust advice please

So I have an 01 f350 bone stock except for appearance. I am considering a 4" diamond eye tb exhaust with 5" tip and I believe he said a afe stage 2 intake. Exhaust work done for 500 bucks and intake for 400. My questions are is this reasonable, and will this gain me anything with the rest being stock, I have read conflicting stories. I was only planning to do these two mods and be done. Any thoughts would help.

Re: intake exhaust advice please

Diamond eye exhaust can be had for under 250 dollars and a diy intake is like 60. 900 for intake and exhaust is absurd

Well I'm not going to weld and hang exhaust myself so for that half of it is that still a rip? And what diy intake are you referring to? I am not knowledgeable about this stuff and looming for help.

Re: intake exhaust advice please

Its a DIY tymar intake it cost me about a 100 bucks. I bought a 4 inch 45 exhaust pipe and Donaldson 6637 from napa. Bought a 4 inch silicon coupling on amazon took me about a hour to cut and build looks good.

There is no welding required for the exhaust. They are bolt on kits.

Re: intake exhaust advice please

If your not doing any big mods then just get it straight piped and buy a tip. Or for the money , straight pipe it $60 , 6637 intake $60 , JWVB $225 , and a custom tune $400. Still well under the $900 you were going to spend with a whole different truck. Oops gauges - need at least a pyro gauge if your towing or beating on it , a boost if you care to know it as well

03 7.3 with the new nose 8" and 37's 124k original and adding slowly

Sold - 00 X, 01 350, 02 350

Re: intake exhaust advice please

I installed the 6637 directly to the STOCK rubber intake tube. Its going ti require some silicone spray and sometimes hook picks to get it on. Then I put three or four screws threw it to keep it together. Put stock hose/filter clamp back on. Might have to shave rubber guide nubs. I'm persnally sick of my 6637 and will buy s Bank's Air box set up soon. Sick of hearing the intake noise 12-18 hours a day. Also installing a Gen II Wicked Wheel or 38R and I don't want to hear it. Tired of buying a new 6637 every 4-6 weeks as well.

Re: intake exhaust advice please

That AFE IS over priced and also sucks in hot air.
