mbrp dp

Hey guys, ordered my dp from xdp tonight, got a sawsall and a portapower,I heard that diamond eye dp came with a heat wrap installed around it,I went with mbrp because my friend has a 97 and said it wasn't to bad,as of right now I have dual 5inch stacks,im really curious of how much better they will sound. Im just wondering if I should get some heat wrap for my dp or just let it be?

Re: mbrp dp

I have a mbrp dp on mine the fit is not very good. I had to cut and turn the pipe in towards the middle to get it off of the frame. About the wrap I didnt and dont really notice a problem.

Re: mbrp dp

I have heard you might have to modify a body seem that may rub on some down pipes...
Little redneck engineering with a hammer with a few well placed taps on the offending body part was one guys cure.

Re: mbrp dp

i cut the pinch weld in two places and folded it over, my MBRP fits like a glove.

i have dual 7" thick wall ss stack and it barks, like the sound alot better than my 4" set up.

Re: mbrp dp

Got it done today, what a pain that was, sounds wicked though,I like it,it really whistles nicely. I had to cut the firewall a couple times to then took my portapower and a wooden tee ball bat and pushed the wall away with the portapower and the bat, worked nicely, fits perfect
