What are you power goals, and what do you plan to do with the truck besides pulling? Daily driver, heavy trailer towing, strictly a sled pulling truck?

Re: Create more torque

If you want to be known as one of the hardest to pull against I recommend saving somewhere around 30k if you can do the labour and fab work needed. If you plan on paying people to build your engine, do thè fab work needed to get your setup right then I'd say closer to 60k.
But if you are looking to get going and start with just a few grand I recomend searching the forums, talking too your local pullers as well.

Re: Create more torque

If u wanna do any good at all your gona have to spend $10000 if u have an auto ($6500 if maunal)

250/100 injector
38r
BTS (or bigger clutch if 6spd)
Smith brothers Push rods
Arp Head studs
910 comp Valve springs
Fuel pump
Gauges
Intake
Exhaust
Custom tunes
Traction bars
Driveshaft loops

That will give you 500hp which will give u a good lead in the street stock class you could go up to 250/200 and a little bigger turbo to put u around 575hp, and still have a good daily driver

2001 7.3 PSD, Swamps 200/30 injectors, 38r turbo, HPx, FRx, bellowed up-pipes, non-ebpv ped, Gearhead tuned TS 6 pos chip, AFE big boost intake, 4" downpipe; 5" exhaust, BTS valve body, 31 row tranny cooler, autometer gauges, 05-07 front end, centurion rear bumper, 327,000 miles FOR SALE

Re: Create more torque

Correctly done 250/100 will make 600..and a 38r isn't how its done its a stock to stage 1 turbo max. You need a modded h2e..

We only carry the BEST parts and never compromise just to get a sale.

Dealer for: Full Force, Tymar, BTS, Icon, Pure Performance, TW tunes, just to name a few.

Re: Create more torque

Starting with a 7.3 with only a SCT, and asking vague questions like that, you have a long way to go and a lot of research to do to even start to become competitive. There is much more to it than just "tons of power".
