Question transmission advice

I have a 2001 f-250 i am thinking about investing in a ts 6-position chip but i still have the factory trans. Should i try to get a shift kit or a rebuild kit? or do i need anything at all?

Not for just some custom tunes but an aftermarket valve body from John Woods or BTS will help your shifts.

Re: transmission advice

the trans is an automatic and has a little over 200,000 miles on i but the highest tune would be the preformance which would add 140 horse, would that be the the best chip to get or is there somthing better to get

http://www.brianstruckshop.com/index.html

You can do a google search for their valve bodies to find the best price.
I would take it easy on a stock 200k trans and a 140 tune

Re: transmission advice

Yeah with 200k just remember if you play, your gonna pay. If you get the chip, forget the valve body and just start saving up for a trans especially if you spend a lot of time in the race tune. Which chip are you looking at?

Re: transmission advice

So your saying that it would be best to someone to burn a chip for me, can they burn them so that it will let the trans last a little bit longer.
