Drive pressure readings?

First off I have an areoforce scan guage that reads my ebp. Is this a reliable way to read drive psi? I'm trying to tune my setup and was wandering how y'all measure drive psi.. Are you guys running a pressure guage modded to handle the heat or just using the ebp sensor to determine the drive pressure? Thanks.

Re: Drive pressure readings?

reading your ebp can be reliable, but you need to take into consideration the baro for elevation you are at and subtract that from the reading.

You can run a 0-60/0-100 boost gauge, but need to replace the nylon tubing with either copper or ss. I have read where others have installed a small inline fuel filter (like for a lawn mower, etc.) to keep the soot from clogging the tube.

I'm sure more will buzz in on this shortly, hopefully someone can steer you in a better direction.

Edit: might also try ISSPRO, I thought I read somewhere that they sell an EV2 gauge that is actually labeled drive pressure.

Re: Drive pressure readings?

Yeah I mean if the ebp sensor reading is reliable enough I will just use that. I used a boost guage on my 12v truck with the copper tubing as a heat sink but I mean I already have the ebp sensor giving me readings. Plus with the scan guage I can set it up so the map sensor is on top and the ebp sensor is on bottom to see the relationship between the two.

Re: Drive pressure readings?

Should be good to go with that setup...

I believe the ISSPRO's tap directly into the EBP sensor to get their reading, so....

I've never used a scan gauge, so I was kind of mis-reading our original post. I think you're good to go if it is reading from the EBP sensor.

Re: Drive pressure readings?

I think it should work fine, that is what the computer is using for input. I would make sure the EPB sensor is working correctly. Here is a trouble shooting guide from Oregon fuel injection that has the correct values for the sensor. Look under low power poor mileage.
