Who has installed an aeroforce interceptor or are good with gauges

Hello

I'm looking at purchasing an aeroforce interceptor and I'm trying to figure out how others have installed it. This will be in my pillar gauge pod. I saw on aeroforce's website under accessories you can purchase "add a circuit - pico 10 amp mini fuse add"

Is that a common way to get power to this fuse or where have you spliced into. I want the gauge to have power when I put my key in. This will be my first gauge in my three gauge pillar pod and ill be adding an egt n trans temp in the near future. Suggestion on wiring those ?

I haven't had a lot of experience with electrical work so I'm a newbie in this area. Looking for help. Thanks!

To power up the gauge you just plug it into the the obd port..... Done.

Re: Who has installed an aeroforce interceptor or are good with gauges

Follow up - in regards to powering the aeroforce gauge - several websites that sell the product highlight that outside of plugging into the obdII port - one would also need to connect a seperate wire (that's included) to a switched 12v vehicle power source.

I'm wondering if its then good to buy the pico add a circuit kit .... But then I'm also wondering where would I eventually cut in for power for ,y other gauges in the near future?

Aeroforce Ford FD Series SINGLE Interceptor Scan Gauge - Aeroforce Interceptor Gauges - Gauges

There's the website / vendor that states the need to provide power ..... Because even if the obd II port provides power - I still only want power to this gauge and my future gauges ( egt and trans temp) when I have my key in and turned on to provide power or have the truck fully turned on

Maybe I'm over thinking this aeroforce gauge install but either way then what do you all recommend for installing me other gauges - where should I splice to get power for these

Some vehicles have required the 12v switched source to power up the gauge...... My 97 didnt need it and my 02 didnt need it.

Just plug the cord into the obd and youll find out if ya need it.

Re: Who has installed an aeroforce interceptor or are good with gauges

Thanks, ill go from there with my aeroforce. Suggestions on wiring my other gauges?

Btw I have an 01 f350

Is there active power to the headlights I can tap into or I've read about tapping into the PCM (which seems risky to me) I'd rather splice into something else

Ive sold 100s of these, used mine in multiple ford psd trucks.... all powered on once the key was turned to on....

have a look at dieselmanors guage install sheet for fords they may give a pointer where to get power from..some guages may want to have leads tapped to lights, ignition power etc..

Early 99 f350 4x4 crew cab, auto. pmt2 pcm
2001 cup holder ,T500, MAX AC ASSIST AC mod, Diy Twin tymar, TS chip, Powerslots & Hawk pads, ford AIC, ..... with big fat want to list.
