2001 7.3 fuel milage

I have a 2001 7.3 in a f250. I am running 315/75/16 tires, stage 2 afe intake, mbrp 4in cool duels and superchips programmer. I am only getting 12mpg which is what i was getting before I did exhaust and intake. I do not think superchips has the right program for this truck. It is 4x4 with auto tranny.

I've got a very similar setup as you but with the Edge tuner and straight piped factory exhaust. Right now I'm averaging 14.5 MPG. Have you reprogrammed for the right tire size?

Re: 2001 7.3 fuel milage

im all stock 02 ccsb 4wd auto running 285/75/16 and getting 14. but if i buy diesel from chevron or sinclair here instead of Maverick i get 16... but ya if your wanting milage get a small car. winter diesel and a big truck, not gonna get the best milage, and alot depends on your driving habits.

You say you were getting 12mpg before the exhaust and intake? Thats because exhause and intake wont effect your MPG no matter what the box says.

re collaborate the PCM for tire size then re hand calculate for MPG... 2-3 MPH can change a lot of things.

Early 99 7.3 F350 auto,TN T-4 mount with a s467 for air,H-11's stud's SRP 1.1 for oil all supplied by unlimited diesel..beehives, DI push rod's, new alliant 315/200 hybrids,Driven diesel fuel system with a fuel lab 41401. ...tuned by Gearhead..

i know it used to but any more its the same. my father in law hauls fuel for a gas company around here to the stores. says the "red" diesel comes out of the same tank as the "green" diesel when he gets it. just when he gets the off road fuel he types in the computer screen off raod fuel and every few seconds i gives it a shot of red dye as its being pumped onto the truck.

Re: 2001 7.3 fuel milage

And I hear it is a VERY big fine if they would ever find out you are using it. Just what I have heard.

As of right now:
2000 F-350 7.3 Dually
6 speed manual
4:10 rear
DIY intake
DIY 4" exhaust
Hypertech power programmer 3
I am looking into new parts now, Turbo, sticks, custom tunes and all other supporting mods needed starting with fuel.
