Edge cts

I have not had a chance to really dig deep into this thing yet. I haven't tried to update it yet if it even needs it. My question is on a 2000 F250 7.3 can it read coolant temp? It has 2 trans temp gauges but I have a manual so one says 30 and the other says 180 all the time. It reads engine oil temp. I have a boost fooler but the map always reads a minimum of 12 psi. Is that normal? I know its not making 12psi at idle. The actual boost gauge only reads up to maybe 10 psi. I know with a TS chip and 38r I'm pushing more than 10psi. The ebp sensor always reads 53. Is that the default if its broken? I even cleaned the line and fittings when I changed the hpop. Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to waste 400+ dollars for something thats a joke. Thanks

Re: Edge cts

There is no coolant temp sensor on a 7.3, so therefor the PCM does not see it. That is why your CTS will not show it.

MAP should be around 14.7 psi. That is atmospheric pressure.

The EBP reading is really high. Did you replace the sensor when you cleaned the line?

Re: Edge cts

I have a temperature sensor. I just didn't install it until I knew I had to use it. I understand the atmospheric pressure (i paid attention in physics). Will my pressure sensor from Edge read the 14 lb atmospheric pressure (i am assuming it won't). No I didn't replace the sensor. Is there anyway to ohm test it? If not does $80 sound about right for one? Thanks Justin.

Re: Edge cts

I believe there is an option to read MAP, and an option to read Boost. The boost reading will automatically minus atmospheric pressure.

I am not sure if the pressure sensor will read atmospheric pressure or not.

There may be a way to OHM test it, but that may not do you any good. The diaphragm in the sensor may be shot. Yes, $80 is about right.
