BD X-Power chip from super duty, will it work in an OBS?

A friend of mine is giving me a single position BD X-Power chip from a super duty to use in my 1997 F350. Will it work with my computer or will I risk burning out my PCM?

1997 F-350 4x4 4:10's. Mods-Rosewood Stage 2's (160/80's), Markfuga E-fuel and 6.0 pump, 96' engine with 137,000 miles, TS 6 pos, 3 inch DP, 4 inch side exit, ZF5-S42 and South Bend Con-OFE, K&N filter and DIY intake, 33/12.5-16.5's BFG A/T's on Outlaw II's. 250,000 miles and counting.

will it just not run or would it damage the pcm?

Anybody else have any idea? I've read that it's a 2 bank chip as opposed to the new style 4 bank, its single position and I read in other places that it can work for an obs. I'm just confused and dont want to burn out the pcm.

Re: BD X-Power chip from super duty, will it work in an OBS?

It will physically fit the obs PCM.
It will not work, however because the sd and obs pcms are not the same.
You can have it reburned for an obs PCM.

You run a risk of damaging your PCM with the installation or removal of ANY chip if not done properly.

Don't try and install it, it won't work!
You are risking damaging your PCM for no reason since you already know it won't work with your PCM in its current configuration.

Send it away for a reburn, or get rid of it.

Okay I'll just sell it then, thanks for clarifying that for me.
