Fuel Sump Ideas

Please excuse me if this has already been posted, butI have been tossing around the idea of a fuel sump lately. I did some looking and was wondering if i could use a Carter P4070 pump. Then use a a Napa 4770 filter base with a 3528 Napa Gold filter. Wondering if anyone else has done something similar to this? I know an Airdog system would be ideal but I don't have the funding at the moment. Also kicked around the idea of using the FRX I have mixed feelings about that. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

Sump, 10-25 micron pre pump filter, stock pump, 2-5 post pump filter regulated return.

Re: Fuel Sump Ideas

So just run the stock filter no need for the lift pump?

Sorry to sound like such a newbie. When you use the dump you still need a pump to get the fuel to the stock pump right? I was gonna use the carter for that.

If he installed a sump than the frame rail mounted fuel pump would be pretty much level

A sump will not slow down your fuel pickup, if anything it would help it by giving it a shorter path to the pump and not having to suck it through a straw up and out of your tank. Look around there are tons of write ups and threads regarding alternative filtering and delivery

Yeah but that would be at absolutely empty on fuel. The pump pulls a siphon thats how it gets fuel with a stock pick up. I have a sump its awesome because its super simple, nothin to mess up just gravity.
