Intercooler

I was wondering if anyone has installed an intercooler from a 6.0 into a 7.3. I have read that there are benefits because it is a larger intercooler. Does this work and if so what am I really going to benefit from the swap?

I did the swap, but that was before I had an EGT gauge. From everyone that I heard from you should expect a 50-75 degree temp drop with the 6.0 intercooler. The biggest issue involved with the swap is the tranny cooler lines. Some people have had issues with the 6.0 IC not clearing the factory 7.3 tranny cooler lines. Mine were tight, but it fit.

Re: Intercooler

depending on your goals HP wise, the 6.0 cooler will work just fine, if u are going for big HP, then u might want to upgrae to a Spearco or DI intercooler. But if u can get it for about $150 or so, yea it is worth it for up to 100* drop.

Re: Intercooler

The swap is worth it for a cheap 100 degree drop. But if your after hp you need something a little more durable.
