Finally Got My Replacement Truck!

Well after 4 months of fighting with insurance companies I got my settlement and got a new truck.. Picked up what is in my sig. I have to go tuesday to pick it up in another province. Now first questions first. Will my chip from my 02 7.3L work in the 03? I have a DI 6 pos chip. As well as my turbonetics BB that never saw under the hood of my old truck because it was stolen before I got a chance to install it.. What are the major differences between 02 and 03? Thanks for the info all GLAD TO BE BACK!!

Re: Finally Got My Replacement Truck!

Congrats Oilfield. The chip will probably have to be reburnt if it doesnt have the same PCM code, and the TN will drop right into this truck u got.

Better late than never, I guess. Whats planned for the new truck? Gonna keep it simple for this one, or is there billet rods in its future?

Re: Finally Got My Replacement Truck!

Congrats on the 03 7.3

The chip should work. I am pretty sure the PCM is the same family between 02 and 03 so you should be fine. Might want to give Dave a call with the PCM code of the new truck to be sure though.

Talking Re: Finally Got My Replacement Truck!

Theres really nothing diferent between the two years, If I had to trucks that close together I would be more interested in build dates, you could be talking a 02 that was built in say June , and a 03 that was built in Nov. Mines a 03 but it was built in Nov. so I figure its problem one of the last 7.3 made. Never really got an answer as to when they started 6.0s.

Re: Finally Got My Replacement Truck!

Plans for this one is a complete tow rig, gotta do Exhaust, intake, throw my chip on, TN BB, and maybe a 4" lift later thats it.. until or if the motor ever goes I will start over again with a built on prob with billets this time but for now just the bare min. Hey whats the limit again roughly for PMR's? My 6 pos, TN BB, and some light injectors should be ok for towing eh?

Re: Finally Got My Replacement Truck!

I'm sure if you sent the chip back to David he'd re-burn it for you. Got any pics of the truck?
