How many people have blown up a built motor?

After hearing about Brandon chucking a rod on his second stock forged motor, I got curious about how built motors are staying together.

Has anyone blown up a motor w/aftermarket rods and a girdle, or main studs?

And if so, what was the list of mods and situation? Pulling? At the track? Getting milk?

Re: How many people have blown up a built motor?

I don't think anyone has blown a built motor except in the few cases of "manufacturers defect". Clam had bad rods, and iirc Dockboy was using a brand of rod that was not one of the more proven ones. The motor I blew up was a stock forged rod motor with b-codes, GT42, and nitrous. I was dropping the truck off to get the built motor put in and wanted to see how far I could push the stock motor. I found out.

Which rods were those? I mean personally I would'nt want to have to R&R a built motor that I put in my truck.

Just to clarify. I run that same tune all the time with no issues. (minus the b codes, spray and 42). That's a stock bottom ended forged rod motor.

That tune rips!
