hi every body. got a few questions for you

just want to say that this is a great site and ive been doin a good bit of research on this site for the past 2 years. im 18 and waitin to ship for army basic training on july 29th and ill be getting done with all that in december. when i get out ill have about $13-14,000 from my pay during basic training and my enlistment bonus and the first thing that im gonna buy is hopefully a 97 F250. ill be looking for 4x4 and a manual. i hope to be spending about $8,000+ on mods right off the bat and us the rest to pay down the loan. i would like to gun for about 400-450 hp. and ive been putting together a parts list.

dp tuner (heard alot of good things about dp)
nexus gauges
up pipes + down pipes
south bend clutch
still debaiting injectors but would like stage II's from beans
inake
turbo back exhaust +stacks
dominator 66
terminator hpops

i think this would be able to push me into the 400+ hp range shouldnt it? if you guys have any suggestions on any other mods i should do to help support the power like fuelsystem ex let me know. i hope to use the truck to get into sled pulling and mabye a couple 1/4 mile runs. it probably wont tow but once or twice a year for tractor shows. but any advice would be much welcomed. ive wanted a psd for years and ill finally be able to afford one

That looks like pretty good list. You should be right around 400 I would say after all said and done.

Re: hi every body. got a few questions for you

My suggestion would be to look into buying a Late 99 Super duty. you will have better options and less expensive to get to the numbers u want. but you do have a good list. You can find Super Duty's pretty inexpensive anymore.

Re: hi every body. got a few questions for you

look for a Late 99 or 2000 Super Duty and u will be good to go for Forged rods. What difference does it make if they have Splits, you will be putting Injectors in anyway, and you can do singles if u like. You dont have to have splits.

By the way Armystroker, thanks for joining the service!!! I am a fellow military member, 15 years in the USAF

Hey, my little brother wanted to basically the same thing with his money from basic training. He enlisted back in January. It was all we could do to convince him to save his money, and not spend it on a truck that he wouldn't be able to drive. I don't know your situation, but my brother has to head over to Iraq in September, so it would be pointless for him to spend money on a truck. You might want to consider the same thing. Wait till your out and can enjoy the truck, instead of just when your on leave. Take your money and invest it. But thats JMO.

Re: hi every body. got a few questions for you

I would call up bean, di, bwd, dieselsite, and itp. ask them to put together a package deal and go with the one that fits your budget and power level.
all are great dealers.

powerwise , my list may be a lil more then your looking at but....
my money would be spent on

99~00 crewcab sb 4x4 with a sun roof.

guages and pillar 500 +/-
d66, pdr or either bb turbo , or h2e turbo, 1300~ 2400
head studs,700
stage III hybirds injectors 2600+
southbend clutch
find a diy stealth big oil kit
or go termy
(Unless the dieselsite pulse oil is out
or maybe look at new stealth if that is out.)
di or itp regulated return 399~499
fass or airdog
diesel site coolant filter
fluiddamper 400 +/-
chip 300+++
diy tymar intake kit..50
motoblue (rpmoutlet.com) or mbrp exhaust 299 & +++
powerslot brakes and hawk pads or diesel manor's version at least on the front 300~700 ish
also an 08 rear diff cover is a nice cheap add on. 50 +/-

prob spend the rest on the down payment

if you'r changing turbos's late 99 work better with pdr, garret or tn bb turbos's early 99's like d66 or h2e turbos..the h2e is by far a better turbo for high hp levels but is 2400 +/- .

mannuals don't have expensive $4000bts tranny upgrade to fool with.
and don't have the mechanical diode tranny that some 01's had.
south bends should be nice clutches. But are far slower on the drag strip.
they are easier on pulling contests though.

I would not forget to look at powerslot brakes and hawk lts pads ..stopping is always nice.
big oil helps , and fuel mods are nice too. like a fass and reg return.

fluid dampers are not $$ and help eaek a tiny bit of power smoothness and mpg to boot.

dp, di, and tonywildman are all good chips, dp has the most setting availible.

afe2, airflow performance and the diy tymar are good intakes.
mbrp and motoblue , magna seem to have good exhust kits.

bwd and di , and possible international have better up pipes ,if you are looking at drop in turbos, otherwise the h2e has all the pipes needed.

just a few of my random thoughts.

Early 99 f350 4x4 crew cab, auto. pmt2 pcm
2001 cup holder ,T500, MAX AC ASSIST AC mod, Diy Twin tymar, TS chip, Powerslots & Hawk pads, ford AIC, ..... with big fat want to list.

Re: hi every body. got a few questions for you

this is why i joined this site u guys know your stuff. im leaning towards a H2E or BB turbo. head studs would be a must for me safty first. i more than likely wont be geting deployed any where but the US for my MOS. so i should be ok on that.

ya..my step dad has an o5 sb with one ..i like it.
danny's truck looked nice too..orange is not my color , but
that thing was bad ashe.

don't forget early 99's need new parts like dieselsites 99.5 kit to use
bb drop ins. brakes are a lil different but availible.
I run powerslots on all 4 wheels..much better then my warped stockers so far.
