What are symptoms of to much timing ?

I have a crap load of smoke for a 80hp chip more then anyones 140 setting I've ever seen. Suppose its timing? Its just some old pos diablo chip thats been in the thing since o2. It's supposed to have some sort of custom tuning .

Where's that smartass Charles at

Who's Charles?

--anyway, I'll give it a shot

...if your engine is still together, then your timing is fine.

..if your engine isn't still together, then your rods were weak.

(isn't that how all the tuners do it?)

Re: What are symptoms of to much timing ?

Timing, up to a point, will reduce smoke.

What are the specs on the truck if it's not the one in your sig? What turbo, injectors, etc.

What has changed? Did the truck always smoke this bad or did it just start or did it start with an addition of another part?

Stock turbo & injectors (AD's) smoked like this from day one. Also its a 6 speed.

Re: What are symptoms of to much timing ?

low ICP
massive up-pipe (&/or manifold) leaks

Re: What are symptoms of to much timing ?

From day one? Like from when the truck was new at the dealer?

What kind of boost does it make?

Have you checked the common stuff like the wastegate and for boost leaks?
