Heavy Duty Alternator?

Anybody know where to get a heavy duty or high output alternator? I'm on my 3rd one in as many months; have had a few more over the years before these also.

Re: Heavy Duty Alternator?

Looks like that one's for dual alternator set-ups, or does it matter?

Not sure, looks the same.

Here is a link to the one for single alt, or top position with duals

Re: Heavy Duty Alternator?

You probably already know but the stock alt is 100 amps. 200 should be plenty

They are a bit pricey but my WranglerNW 200 amp alternator is going strong. At idle it is at 14+Volts and is near max output. Stan Hackathorn is the man to talk to 800 962-2616. Kit includes new 1/0 welding cable charge and ground cables with a Mega or Maxi fuse for 250 amps. Make sure the batteries are still good and full charged before hooking the new alternator up. They can burn out trying to charge a dead battery. Not designed for that.
